RDI brought two SPARC based portables to the market, the BriteLite? IPC and IPX. Rather than design a new SPARC mainboard, RDI designed the BriteLite? series using the existing Sun IPC and IPX mainboard. So, in essence, these systems are merely portable versions of the Sun IPC and IPX.
Tadpole acquired RDI in 1998.
